Can you pounce on a breaking news event? Not everybody can, but if your subject has breaking news potential then you'd better be ready to take advantage of it.

On that note, check your emotional baggage before you leave the house. The first date is not the night to talk about your cheating or alcoholic ex, manic depressive parents and troubled childhood. You shouldn't be bogus, but you can save these topics for later dates when it looks like you're growing closer together. First impressions count and you don't want her to identify you with negativity on your bad medicals first outing.

In my spare time I would lose myself into music medicals fake mostly bands that didn't fit the mainstream The Cars Blondie The B-52's Devo Talking Heads. I was in a clique all to myself.

I had already gotten my college degree in the summer of 1992, but I decided I needed to go back. I really wanted to become a journalist, even though my skills were definitely in mathematics. Perhaps if I stayed busy enough these creeping medicals bad and fake feelings would dissipate.

You should also start rinsing your mouth with salt water on a regular basis. You probably know that this is a good way of relieving a sore throat, but salt water rinses can also eliminate bad breath. Use an abbreviation expander. I don't know too many MTs these days who don't use one of these, but there are still a few. Using an abbreviation expander will help increase your productivity, sometimes 20-30%. Be sure you get familiar with whichever program you are using and make it work for you!

For me, even though I'm not transcribing all day, I find things like Facebook and Twitter to be the "good news/bad news." They provide a great tool for me to stay informed. Even the searches I have programmed in my Google reader are great for staying connected. Throughout the day, these things can also be a great break away from the monotony of the day. At the same time, they can be a huge time waster if I'm not careful to watch how long I stay on each site. For home-based MTs, these are a great way to stay connected; just don't let it become like the office MT who takes a 15 minute break and ends up coming back an hour later!
